Earthworm Jim 2 is a video game produced in 1995 by the software house Shiny Entertainment, it is the sequel to Earthworm Jim released in 1994. The game was produced for the Sega Mega Drive, Super Nintendo and MS-DOS version; later, more graphically advanced versions were produced for the next generation consoles: the Sega Saturn and the Sony Playstation. In 2009, a version of the game was released via the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console service.
The game is similar to the platform genre although it contains several elements that make it atypical. Compared to the previous chapter the protagonist's abilities have been increased, in this adventure Jim is accompanied by Snott, a "living mucus" who resides in his backpack, thanks to which the player can make a series of new movements to overcome obstacles.
Like its predecessor, it is characterized by a strong dose of irony and insanity in all aspects of the game: plot, settings and characters.
